Maaan I really don't like that paper. Shiny cardboard is great for colour pencil but watercolour sucks on it. :X

His name is Vale, I decided. He is a moon harvester, so he climbs up cliffs and collects moonchildren (the lantern thingies -- moon lanterns, aha). The thingy in the background is a spaceship, the thing he's sitting on is a fish statue half buried in sand. The tattoo on his arm is familiar, I's don't think this kinda place'd fit in with the rest of the comic though.

More props to :worship: ~satougaki :worship:, although this looks less satougaki-ish than it did when I just had the lineart. Cuz her watercolours are nicer to her than mine are to me :(.

Watercolour, mcdodgy mcpaper and waterproof black ink. Why do all the colours look the same?! Aaaack. Help me.

I am of no use with watercolors, so I'm just going to do this.

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

The colors are so deliciously rich and gorgeous and blueeeeeeeee. With hints of green, and that's the best kind of blue. The shading on his face seems overly dark to me, but I haven't a clue how to fix that. ^^; Sorry. I'm still in awe of your detail and inking, the stippling especially - the fish statue is just cool. And hooray for the spaceship! XD

I feel a bit bad for the poor moonchildren, though. *pets them* I hope they're going to good homes...

Anyway. MAD LOVE FOR YOU. Yessssssss.

Love. Pure, instant, eternal love of this work. Gosh-dangit! Whats all this talk about the paper thwarting you? It's GORGEOUS. Your watercolor skills are incredible, seriously. I love the colors you chose (we're psychic, you and I!) and the texture and technique is awesome.

Morore, this rocks. :+fav:

Oh, this is NEAT!
Okay, I love it; his rougish expression, right down to the stylized moon-spaceship. Also, I'm a sucker for blue.
The problem you may be having with the similar colors is that your water is blue when you're painting. Which isn't a big problem from where I'm sitting.
mouuu.

I've suffered for my art. Now it's your turn.

Oh bravo, excellent choice of colours! ^___^.

Whatever you may say about the watercolor, I think they look beautiful. Especially the stars and that streak around the moon. I love the variation in linework style, the shapes of things, how the moons curl at the ends. The moon harvester concept gives it a beautiful fantasy feel, that you can capture the sky in a jar X3 Ohh, tingly . I love what the stippling and lineshading add to the lower part of the picture...is that a cross at the bottom center there? I want to think of critique for this but I can't see much...uhmm..he doesn't stand out from his background much? It's not really a problem since the background is so beautiful XD But it makes him seem a little flatter. Maybe if you add in slightly more contrast in the coloring on him he'd pop out more.

lol yes yes, I thought this was fairly reminiscant of satou-gakis style. But I like it, still looks sort of diffrent in your hands.

I love the texture the watercolour makes. Original lineart was awesome too. The blue shading on the skin look a bit too... blue. Which makes the character kind of blend into the background... but doesn't stop it from being a beautiful artwork.
